hopeFound Bulldog Running Club
The hopeFound Bulldog Running Club was founded in the 2008 by Michael Ferullo, a licensed social worker and resident of Brookline. Mike worked with hopeFound staff to introduce fitness and a life long recovery activity to men in the post-detox addiction treatment program.
Mike, known as “Coach Ferullo,” and his volunteer assistant coach, Jim Carroll, meet with current as well as many graduates of the treatment program on Saturday mornings for a run at a Franklin Park course. Clients not yet physically ready to run the course are invited to walk.
Bob, a member of the club and a client in the men’s addiction treatment program, commented:
“The only thing I ever ran from before was the police. This running club has helped me get serious about the physical part of my recovery.”
